Turmeric, an Indian spice, is well known to have anti-inflammatory properties and you don’t need to eat a curry to have some! There are various recipes around which incorporate turmeric into drink form and make it more palatable (surprisingly it doesn’t taste very spicy to drink however), but I have kept it quite simple with only a few ingredients. The lemon makes it quite bitter, which some people may like to make a little sweeter with honey for example. You’ll also need a blender or food processor for this.
Ingredients – serves one
One teaspoon of turmeric powder
A couple of inches of fresh ginger chopped up
The juice of two lemons
A glass of water
Simply put all the ingredients into a food processor and whizz up! You may want to experiment with the amount of water depending on your tastes.
